SoftSora began with a few small projects for a business in northern Japan. Those early partnerships shaped our approach to quality and delivery.
The beginning: a vision sparked in Hokkaido.
Our story starts in 2022, when founder and CEO Nilan Meegoda partnered with a B2B company in Hokkaido, Japan. What began as a collaboration on a few small but ambitious projects quickly revealed a shared commitment to quality and innovation.
Those early projects laid the groundwork for SoftSora and the quality standards we follow today.

- 2023
Official launch & stronger leadership
Fueled by that early momentum, SoftSora was registered as a private limited company in April 2023. Mohammed Rishard joined as CTO and co-founder, bringing a new dimension of technical leadership, and the first office opened in Colombo.
- 2023–2024
Growth, partnerships and new horizons
We grew the team, deepened international partnerships, and broadened the offering to advanced software, AR/VR and 3D. By focusing on client success and technical excellence, we completed 30+ projects for 20+ clients across local and overseas markets.
- 2025
A dynamic team, a global vision
The SoftSora team kept growing, serving clients across Sri Lanka, Japan, the USA, the UK and beyond. In April we exhibited at Japan IT Week Spring 2025 in the Sri Lanka Pavilion, with JICA's exhibition support. Our airspace platform was featured on TV Tokyo's WBS, and in July a new headquarters opened in Colombo.

Europe, on the same terms
In April we joined the IPD Selling Mission GER/SWE 2026, run by the Import Promotion Desk with BMZ funding. The mission took us to Hannover Messe, Berlin and Stockholm to meet European enterprises and learn about their requirements.

A platform launch in Colombo
DWorld VR launched Touli in Colombo, on a platform SoftSora built.
